How to Choose the Right Cards for Your Collection

01

Pick the Game That Fits Your Interests

Other TCGs cover a huge range of games and player communities. One Piece is the fastest-growing TCG of recent years, with strong competitive play and beautiful alt arts driving collector demand. Disney Lorcana has built a massive collector following thanks to its art and Disney IP. Yu-Gi-Oh! is one of the longest-running TCGs ever, with deep player and collector communities. Dragon Ball Super, Star Wars Unlimited, and Riftbound: League of Legends each bring their own communities. Pick based on the IP and gameplay style you actually want to engage with.

02

Understand the Sealed Product Formats

Sealed product varies by game but generally follows similar structures. Booster boxes deliver the most packs at the best per-pack price. Starter decks and structure decks are pre-built and ready to play, ideal for new players. Premium collections, special boxes, and tins bundle packs with promo cards or accessories. For collectors, secondary parallels — alt arts (AA), super rares (SR), secret rares (SEC), and leader parallels — are typically the chase. Each game has its own rarity hierarchy, so check the game’s rarity guide before chasing specific cards.

03

Buy Authentic — Especially for Hot New Releases

When a TCG is hot and supply is constrained (One Piece and Lorcana have both gone through this), counterfeit sealed product and fake singles flood unauthorized marketplaces. Always buy sealed product from trusted dealers sourced through authorized distribution. For high-value singles, grading through PSA, BGS, or CGC adds authentication and resale liquidity. We inspect every single we sell and run monthly bulk PSA submissions out of our Laval shop.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which TCGs do you carry besides Pokémon and Magic?

We carry a rotating selection of other TCGs, with current focus on One Piece Card Game, Disney Lorcana, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Dragon Ball Super Card Game, Star Wars Unlimited, and Riftbound: League of Legends. Inventory rotates based on releases and demand — visit our Other TCG collection page or our Laval shop for the current selection.

What is One Piece Card Game and why is it popular?

One Piece Card Game is a TCG based on the One Piece anime/manga, published by Bandai. It’s grown into one of the fastest-rising TCGs since launch thanks to a strong competitive scene, beautiful alt art chase cards, and the massive global One Piece fanbase. Alt art (AA) and super parallel rare cards drive most of the collector market.

What is Disney Lorcana?

Lorcana is a TCG from Ravensburger built around Disney characters and IP. It launched to enormous demand and has built a strong collector and player community. Foil cards, enchanted-rare versions, and special promo cards are the main collector chases. If you’re a Disney fan or new to TCGs, Lorcana is one of the most accessible entry points.

Is Yu-Gi-Oh! still a strong TCG to collect?

Yes. Yu-Gi-Oh! has one of the longest histories of any modern TCG and a deep competitive and collector community worldwide. Vintage Yu-Gi-Oh! singles (especially 1st Edition cards from early sets) have appreciated significantly, and modern competitive play continues to drive demand for current sets and ghost rares.

Should I buy sealed product or singles for these TCGs?

Same logic as any TCG: buy singles if you want a specific card for your deck or collection (almost always cheaper than ripping packs), and buy sealed if you enjoy the rip experience or are buying for long-term holding. For newer TCGs in their early sets, sealed product can be especially interesting for collectors but always carries volatility risk.

Are the Other TCG products at CardChasers authentic?

Yes. We source sealed TCG product through authorized distribution and inspect all singles before listing. Counterfeits are a real issue across the TCG market, and we take authentication seriously across every game we carry.

Do you ship Other TCG products across Canada and the US?

Yes, we ship across Canada and the United States from our Vimont, Laval location. Local collectors can also pick up orders in-store at 1712 Boulevard des Laurentides, seven days a week.
